ANHBC PRESENTS THE GOOD NEIGHBOURS AWARDS,
The Good Neighbours Awards Celebration is an annual event hosted by the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of British Columbia (ANHBC). ANHBC owes its 117 year history to its many volunteers, community supporters, and neighbours. The Awards offer an opportunity for staff, and volunteers to come together to celebrate and honour those who have made significant and long lasting contributions to our Neighbourhood Houses and communities in which they work and live.
The Good Neighbours Awards will be a fabulous evening where we are expecting approximately 180 attendees. The event will include the awards celebration, live music, exquisite cuisine, mystery balloons, house raffle, door prizes and a treasure chest full of surprises! The event will recognize and honour volunteers in 2 categories: Youth, and Neighbourhood House Awards.
If you would like to be part of this exciting event, call the central services of the Association at 604-875-9111.
GNA Mission
To honour volunteers, community supporters and neighbours who inspire and improve lives throughout their community while raising awareness of the work of Neighbourhood Houses.

- Did you know?
- Vancouver's first Neighbourhood House grew out of the Alexandra Orphanage, one of the province's first non-profit societies. In 1938, the facility was closed and re-opended a couple of months later as Alexandra Neighbourhood House.
- Incorporated in 1894, the Association of Neighbourhood Houses was the 36th non-profit society in BC. Since then, our 117 year old Association has grown into an organization of eight Neighbourhood Houses and an Outdoor Centre.
- ANHBC's NH's and Camps serve more than 100,000 people a year, or 17% of the population of Vancouver - that's half of the Translink passenger rides on any given day!
